Air Wing Rack LED Light Kit is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Less than expected My '13 FLTRU has limited rear lighting, so I added this as a safety measure. Not really much benefit as a "running" light in the daytime, but it does add some noticeability when braking. A minor amount of added light for running at night, and a nice addition for braking in the dark. Very easy to install; took me about 30 minutes. Overall worth the 70 bucks, but not if you pay another $75 -$90 in HD dealership labor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dim and slanted toward ground I was disappointed in this light. It is too dim for good use. That being coupled with the fact that it is slanted toward the ground doesn't help matters any. It does not do any good as far as safety is concerned. I feel like I wasted my money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Air Wing Rack LED Light Kit I installed this at the same time with my lid rails. The wire harness on these lights both come out on the same side (left), not a left/right configuration as you would expect. The left side went on great, the right side....not so much. I had to redrill a 3/8 hole for the harness as it came down into the lid. The routing on the right side where the wire harness comes through runs from the INSIDE of the right lid towards the hinge point. This forced me to use a clamp to secure the wire and route it back towards the outside hinge area to prevent excessive slack and pinching. The wiring harnesses on these light should be configured so they are on the outside towards the hinge area. The instructions say to insert the wires into cavity 1, 2, and 3 which are not marked on socket housing. But using common sense, you can figure it out. I expected the LED lights to be brighter for daytime visibility. They look great at night. Unless you have some mechanical expertise, do not attempt this installation by yourself until HD redesigns the wiring harness properly.

    Q & A

will this light kit fit air wing rack #50300097

I have a 2016 FLRT/Freewheeler. I've put the air wing luggage rack #50300097 on it and would like to add a high level brake light if at all possible. My questions are: 1) will this kit fit the above mentioned luggage rack and 2) how would it wire into the existing brake light wiring since there isn't an existing tour pak? Thanks in advance for any help.
    Asked by: pnw05ss
Hi pnw05ss, The Air Wing Rack LED Light Kit will only fit '14-later Touring and Tri Glide™ models equipped with Air Wing Tour-Pak® Luggage Rack P/N 79179-08 or 53000063. Unfortunately, Air Wing Rack P/N 50300097 is not a direct fit. Thanks.

Is Air Wing Rack LED Light Kit-68000112 compatible with the Air Wing Luggage Rack - 50300097? I have ordered 2 others and none seem compatible.

See Order No. 10755559; I need a light kit that fits the rack ordered on that order. Thank you.
    Asked by: MWid
Hi MWid, Unfortunately, no, Air Wing Rack LED Light Kit P/N 68000112 does not fit Air Wing Luggage Rack P/N 50300097. As it states in the fitment statement, this light kit fits '14-later Touring and Tri Glide™ models equipped with Air Wing Tour-Pak® Luggage Rack P/N 79179-08 or P/N 53000063. Currently, Harley-Davidson does not offer a LED Light Kit compatible with the Air Wing Luggage Rack for Freewheeler models. How do I connect the light kit wiring to the brake light wiring on my 2014 Road King?

I have successfully installed the light in the luggage rack and now it leads into the Tour-Pak. What's next? How do I access the brake light wiring? What is the route of the light kit wiring to the brake light wiring?

Is part #68000112 compatible with part #68000123A

I have part#68000123A already installed on my 2015 FLHR. It appears that part #68000112, optional light kit for Air Wing luggage rack plugs into the same harness that part #68000123A is already tapped into. If that is the case, you would not be able to have both of these parts installed. Also, does having either one of these kits installed add an unreasonable load on your alternator, particularly with an ABS equipped bike.
