    Q & A

Antenna placement, please help.....Which side is which?

I'm replacing both antennas on my 2008 Ultra Classic with the H-D Shortys Parts #76386-08 (CB Antenna# and 76388-08 #AM/FM Antenna). I am not certain if the ones currently on there are in the right place. If you are standing behind the bike, which one goes on which side? I think the CB goes on the right and AM/FM on the left? Also, the replacement units do not have set screws. Which thread locker is suggested? Neither antenna in the package has any instructions. Thank you!

Mine is wired thusly...CB is on the RIGHT side when viewed from behind bike, AM/FM is on the LEFT. I discovered this by lowering squelch until CB could be heard, then touched stub and listened to change in reception (my antennas were both missing at this time so reception WAS limited - but noticeably different on touching). I recommend a procedure similar to this one to verify your locations.

In order to have your CB and AM/FM you still need two antennas. I posted a picture of the AM/FM antenna for you to check out.
