H-D Detachables 20 in. Windshield is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for me! I bought my 2017 Freewheeler in Ca. with the 20" windshield installed from the dealer & could not be happier. Broke the trike in riding 1,000 miles up & down the CA. coast with my son & 2 friends, then had the 1,000 mile service done at the dealer & rode home to St. Louis, Mo so I put 3,200 miles behind the shield in 10 days & it performed well for me. The entire trike has been flawless in 3,600 miles.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still Windy... Firstly, let me say that my primary ride is a 2001 RoadGlide with a fixed fairing and an upgraded tall windshield so my concept of wind protection may be different than others. Having said that, when I bought my wife a new FreeWheeler on August 4th I didn't leave the dealer without a windshield because I knew both of us would need it riding this bike. $350 is expensive but for a quality windshield that is one-touch install easy without any tools or hardware it was convenient. It takes longer to get it out of the box than install it on your FLRT. Having said that, let's get to what you're reading this for. A user review: I'm used to such good wind protection I can ride comfortably with a 1/4 helmet and sunglasses. While this windshield will protect you from a stiff headwind directly to your chest when riding at freeway speeds, it merely redirects the flow. Now, the wind sneaks around the screen and comes up from underneath alongside the tank. This wind is strong and lifts your helmet off your head and blows your sunglasses off. It's an odd feeling to have to squint from the wind as your looking through a windshield. Looking for fork-mounted wind deflectors for the FLRT. As expensive as this screen is, I'm going to have to spend even more money to "fix" the issues with it and get it to do what I thought it was already going to do. Not happy with it so far and wouldn't recommend it.

    Q & A

How does it mount to the fork?

Rockstar, that really does not answer my question. I saw that diagram in the pdf instructions at the more information tab. I don't see how it attaches to the fork. Are there additional parts required? Do the brackets, parts 8 and 9 on the diagram attach to the fork?
    Asked by: HaroldL90

Does this come with all the hardware you need or is there an additional mounting kit required?

Hey HaroldL90, Take a look below and you'll find the Service Parts list and diagram for this windshield. Thanks! Rockstar883

Is there any way to have a lock on the windshield? It doesn't seem that it will stay on with time.

Mount is fitting good, just wonder if slipping it on will keep it on the bike as time goes on.

When will additional wind deflecting lowers be available?

I need additional wind protection for my 2015 FLRT!
    Asked by: Fixo
Hi Fixo, If you would like to add additional wind protection for your 2015 FLRT, you can consider adding Color-Matched Vented Fairing Lowers. You would need Engine Guard P/N 49184-09A (Chrome) or P/N49050-09A (Black), Steering Stabilizer Bracket P/N 83865-09, and the correct Color-Matched Vented Fairing Lowers. Thank you for your question.
