Down Tube Bag is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bullet proof This is one heavy duty bag. Built tuff with steel plate mounts. Fit all my road tools a cell phone charging cable and the all important rag. Install took about hour but is worth the elbow grease.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stunning but Impractical The small items that I carry on my motorcycle fall into three groups: those that I may need almost every time that I ride; those that I may need occasionally; and those that I may need rarely or in an emergency. If you need a small bag for items in the third group, the Down Tube Bag may be for you. But if you're planning on regularly accessing to your stored items, you might want to move on. When I first un-boxed the Down Tube Bag, I was stunned at how beautiful it looked: the leather was neatly cut, the stitches were precise, and the color were evenly dyed black. And there was nothing flimsy about it: the leather was thick, the buckles were robust, and the heft was pure Harley-Davidson. Then I opened the bag itself. The entire interior of the bag is sealed by a zippered, nylon cover. The nylon cover fits taut, and opens only left to right, across the mid-section of the nylon cover. This not only reduces usable space, but makes it difficult to see the bag's contents. When I tried to reach inside to fish around for one item, my small hand barely fit through the zipper opening. Figure on having to empty the entire contents each time you need to retrieve something. The utility of the bag could have been improved by expanding (or removing) the nylon cover, by placing the zipper at the upper perimeter of the nylon cover, and/or by allowing the nylon cover to be opened on three sides rather than only across the mid-section. The installation process also was flawed. To mount the Down Tube Bag, you need to re-drill four pre-drilled holes. One of the four pre-drilled holes was not where it was supposed to be. Had I not checked for proper alignment, I would have made a large, unnecessary hole in the back of the Down Tube Bag. Lastly, when installed on the down tube cross member, two bolts are to be torqued to 25 - 35 foot pounds. Since the heads of the bolts are inside the Down Tube Bag, the business end of the torque wrench is inside the Down Tube Bag. With the zippered nylon cover and limited interior access, this was a needlessly difficult and convoluted process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet Was looking for a way to have everyday essential carry items with me every time I take off ; head lamp, few tools, red chemlight, zip ties, knife, case of beer...etc and this bag fits that purpose perfectly (kidding about the beer though :) ). Well made bag with heavy duty leather straps and buckles. Front made of very dense leather with hard plastic back that on my bike mounts with use of two thick metal mounting brackets. My 2016 Iron already had a place to mount the bag. Took me about 5 minutes to install. Make sure to have a tube of loctite blue. Not a big deal drilling out the required holes on the back of the bag. Drilling locations vary by how the bag will install on your bike and what mounting bracket you use. You will need 2 req drill bits, ratchet with extension and hex wrench to install. Under the leather flap is the zippered compartment. Its not designed to be a carry all but for essential carry of a few critical items it's perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does NOT fit 2015 Wide Glide I tried for several hours on 2 different days to mount this thing to my bike and no matter how loose I left all of the fasteners, It was impossible to mount it. Everything went well until I tried to get the last fastener through the back and there was no way to get it (or make it) fit. Don't waste your money on this.

What are the dimensions of this bag?

    height and width specifically. Thanks!
    Asked by: AIzzett
Hey AIzzett, Thanks for the question. This bag measures about 10.3" wide and the very back measures 5.2" tall. From the furthest point out to the the back measures about 3.8" in depth. Definitely a handy little bag for essentials that you need, but not necessarily have to grab all the time.
