      Note

Some Harley-Davidson® luggage is made of leather. Fine leathers or other natural materials WILL gain "character," such as wrinkles or wear, with age. This is normal. A fine, aged patina and character wrinkles are a sign of the extremely high quality materials used to construct your luggage. The appearance of scars or marks on the leather are a result of using natural leather panels and should not be thought of as an imperfection. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pricey for what you get Much smaller than the photo to me, even though the belts have the plastic quick disconnect you can not always use them if the bag is full and it need a good cinch, buckles don't have rollers for the price they should have. Leather it self is HD all the way. I cut the toss over down and did a hard mount using the bracket with bolts and knobs. More show for the fender and no rubbing. Leather laces provided as tie downs were ok, but wanted something more secure at high speeds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great leather product, that is easily modified. Modular design of leather front, side and yoke pannels stitched together with a plastic back. Three steel/nickle rings to lace to chrome saddlebag support (sold seperately). Two bags lace together over fender, by a leather thong that pass through three rows of holes in yoke. I had to replace one of the yokes after it was ripped off the bike durring an accident. Traced torn yoke onto heavy saddle leather, pre-drilled holes in leather and plastic, and stitched the pieces back together. I reinforced the stitches with a single rivet at each end of a stitched line, but didn't bother with pre-glueing parts before assembly. Additionaly, I replaced top laces with a bolt and fender washer, that pass through existing holes in yoke and into existing hole in fender (hole in fender was rearmost mount on stock XL883N seat.). I also replaced the three ties that secure steel rings on back of bag to the chrome saddlebag support, with a single loop of 550 cord that passes between support and bike (as bags are lifted from the gound to secure the two bags' yokes over fender). Hooking the saddlebag-support between the 550 cord loop and the back of the saddlebags is MUCH easier than tieing three seperate ties to the saddlebag-guards, but a single loop isnt as secure as three seperate ties. Use at your own risk. My next mod will be to rivet a metal plate to the yoke, just above each bag's flap. The plate will have a bolt projecting on the inside (closest to fender) that match a hole/slot that is on the side of the homebuilt luggage rack. ...similar to that of a WWII WLA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic leather bags Love these bags. Heavy leather with perfect stitching and fit. Room for all those things you wish you could bring along; rain gear, gloves etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product performs as designed except for the bag supports that shipped with the bags simply did not fit my bike - so I elected to use the bags without the supports but there is metal hardware on the hard back of the bags that will scratch if not covered.

      Suitability for wet weather riding

Hi, Would these keep my belongings dry in wet weather riding? Since the flap does not seem to overlap the front or back of the saddlebag, are there design features inside to prevent water ingress? Thanks!
