Quick-Release Compact 15 in. Windshield is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick-Release Compact 15 inch Windshield I just installed the Quick-Release Compact 15 Inch Windshield on my wife's 2016 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight. The only assembly required was to mount the four fork clamps to the windshield itself. The pictures and directions were pretty vague when it came to the direction the clamps were to be positioned, but after I held the windshield up to the motorcycle, it was easier to tell. Four bolts mount the clamps to the windshield frame itself - tighten them down, clamp the windshield to the fork, and adjust the position (up/down) so that the opening around the headlight was uniform all the way around. There was also a clamp that snaps on the front right fork and it holds the two throttle cables (throttle cable and throttle return cable) so that the cables don't hit the windshield. I snapped the clamp below the lower windshield clamp and it lined up perfect with the two throttle cables. The only thing I will have to watch is the clutch cable. It rests on the top of the inner windshield frame and when the clutch is disengaged and engaged, it rubs back and forth, and I know this will eventually wear on the cable housing. I may wrap some black electrical tape around that spot as a precaution. I also plan on purchasing a Locking Quick-Release Windshield Clamp for $41.95. We invested almost $400 on the windshield and it would be way too easy for someone to steel the windshield, and it would take under 20 seconds to do so. Another nice product from Harley-Davidson, with the only downside being the cost of the windshield itself. Looks great on the bike and I can't wait for my wife to try it out next Spring when the snow in Minnesota melts away.
