Love the look and riding position you get with forward controls but not comfortable with the long stretch forward? This Forward Control Conversion Kit repositions the Original Equipment footpegs and foot controls up and back by 2", and positions the controls closer to the rider for added comfort and confidence.

    • Provides additional leg clearance around the chassis and air cleaner by moving the footpegs outward 1.5" (left) and 0.5" (right)
    • Places the rider's boot at the proper pivot point for improved leverage, while maintaining the "foot-forward" riding profile
    • Re-uses Original Equipment control supports and brake and shift levers, or can be personalized with your choice of custom lever styles

Reduced Reach Forward Control Conversion Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reduced Reach Forward Control Conversion Kit My wife and I recently purchased a 2016 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight. My wife is 5'3" and the forward controls were just a tad too far forward, causing her to have to slide way up on the seat when shifting or braking. The Reduced Reach Forward Control Conversion Kit moved the controls two inches closer to the rider, and now my wife can reach the controls with no trouble at all. The kit was easy to install, with the only inconvenience being the exhaust in the way on the brake side. I do everything by the book - especially when it comes to torque specifications. The exhaust restricted access to the mounting bolts so I was not able to use my torque wrench. Instead, I had to use a standard Allen wrench to tighten all four mounting bolts. The specs were for 50 foot-pounds and I know I have them tight enough, I just wish I could have torqued them exactly. The shifter side was much easier with no interference issues. One drawback - the connecting rods are like a galvanized steel as opposed to the O.E.M. which were black. I may remove the rods and paint them at a later date. Everything fit as it was supposed to and I had no installation issues. $274 seems like a lot of money for what you get, but we all know that Harley Davidson parts are expensive and it's just something we have to live with. I feel a lot better with controls that my wife can reach from a safety standpoint, so my feeling is it's money well spent. Harley-Davidson makes quality products and everything bolted up perfect.

    Q & A

    Are the spacers required?

If you're moving the controls back, and up, but then outward aren't your feet going to end up being stretched the same but only in a different direction? I no longer have stock exhaust and there is plenty of space there but if I can install without using the spacers I feel as though I'll reduce both the vertical and horizontal distances my feet must be positioned.
    Asked by: Nathan4874
Hi Nathan4874, The spacers are necessary to the proper installation of this Reach Forward Control Conversion Kit, Harley-Davidson cannot recommend installing this kit any other way than as directed in the instructions. The space caused by the spacers will not take away from the added comfort created by moving the Original Equipment footpegs and foot controls up and back by 2 inches. Thank you for your question.
