Remote Control Garage Door Transmitter is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Cycle, New Transmitter I replaced my cycle with a new trike so I put a new transmitter on it. By following the instructions, it was simple to remove the old transmitter and add the new one to the receiver. The working range is excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2018 Road Glide & Garage Door Transmitter Installation While agree with most, product does work great, big convenience, but requires a lot of patience and deciphering to install correctly. Hopefully this review might help others with same year, make and model: I recently purchased the Remote Control Garage Door Opener Kit, 91561-01B with instructions dated 01/17/2017 for installation on my new 2018 FLTRXS, Road Glide Special. The local dealership also sold me the required electrical connection harness, Kit No. 692201599A which was required for my bike. The garage door opener receiver was previously purchased for a previous bike and this time around, I only needed to purchase and install this new transmitter. For this 2018 HD motorcycle, the electrical wire connection harness kit point of connection with the garage door opener transmitter is right in front of the battery and requires use of two of the supplied butt connectors supplied to make the connections between these two kits, (Orange/white wire to the blue/velvet wire and black to black wire). The third, white wire, from the transmitter is to be spliced to the blue/white wire from the headlight harness inside the fairing. So two of the three wires needed to routed through the fairing and underneath the gas tank towards the battery. The issue I have with this kit is the lengths and jacketing of the three wires. First off, the orange/white wire and white wire are of equal length and jacketed together in a protective sleeve, about 40” long. The actual length of these wire was just long enough to reach the capped wire harness leads from the other kit. The problem is, the black wire from the transmitter is only about 15” long and needs to be installed in place of the white wire. So to install per the instructions, I had to pull the white wire out of the jacketing, butt connector splice the transmitter black wire to another piece of black wire of same gage and length to equal the length of the orange/white wire and cut the white wire to about the length of the black wire and jacket it separately. Note – the piece of black wire supplied with the kit is too short to be used as the additional piece of wire of longer length is needed. Long story short, make the black wire as long as the orange/white wire, pair these two together, and then cut the white wire short to the actual length needed. I don’t think this kit is as universal as Haley Davidson thinks it is? One last comment, from the note section on Page 4 of the instructions, second bullet says for best range avoid placing the transmitter on or near large metal surfaces, where is the instructed location for installation for this bike, on a flat metal surface inside the fairing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong instructions for 2017 Roadglide Bought this for my wifes 2017 Roadglide. Purchased the electrical harness for this also. Instructions says 2014-up touring but do not match the harness that HD tells you you need. Found updated instructions are on this website after spending way too much time trying to decipher the wrong instructions included with product. I have installed this garage door opener on a 2007 street glide, 2009 street glide, and two 2013 road glide. On all these bikes you splice the wiring in the fairing. Now you have to remove or raise the fuel tank and route wiring that is too short along the frame all the way to the battery area and splice into the $30 harness. Not worth $100. And if you had dealership do this it would be 3 hours of labor ($300). Find a place to stick your $20 garage door opener on your bike. I velrcoed mine inside the saddlebag, works great.

    Q & A

Is this remote control compatible with Chamberlain MyQ and Security +2.0 door openers? (My 2014 CVO Limited with factory remote is not compatible)

I have tried adapters and relays with my 2014, but they do not work with the newer security protocols on better garage doors. If this transmitter has been upgraded to be compatible, I am interested in upgrading.
    Asked by: KenM

What is the operating frequency of this transmitter?

    Asked by: chrislanning8
The operating frequency of the H-D garage door transmitter is 434MHz. Some garage door openers have a feature called Security Plus, or rolling code which the opener sets a new code each time it gets a signal. The Harley-Davidson remote is not set up to change the code like that automatically. The feature will need to be deactivated to use the HD remote.

Hello AdamS, You can virtually hook up as many as you would like. They would need to be programmed to it. Thank you!

    Can the 91558-01A b installed on a 2014 FLHTX?

Looking over the instructions for the B version I see there is nothing about the orange wire. But in the A version of instructions it goes over installation on an FLHTK and shows installation using all 4 wires being directly spliced into the front headlamp wiring with no use of an accessories splitter. Something tells me if I cut all four of those wires and do a direct splice I am gonna fry the electrical. Just need some guidance is all Thank you

    Can a 91561-01A be used on a 2014 FLHXS ?

I know the 91561-01B is the updated version for 2014. When I bought my bike I ordered the opener at that time. The dealer got me the 01A not a 01B. I downloaded the instructions and followed it for the install. It never mentions what to do with the yellow wire.
    Asked by: Harleyjimu
Hi Harleyjimu, No, you need to use a -01B. The old version will work on nearly everything except that model. Here’s why: A 14+ FLHX/s has a dual Halogen headlight, that means in hi beam both hi & low are on at the same time. Prior versions of the headlight had either hi or lo beam on, but not both at the same time. The old version (-01A) has looks for a power cycle between hi & lo beam. The new version (-01B) just looks for a cycle of the hi-beam. For every other model (except FLHX/S) the installer would splice: • white to white (or blue/white for 12+ Dyna & 14+ Touring) • yellow to yellow (or blue/yellow for 12+ Dyna & 14+ Touring) Hope this helps answer your question!
