    This latest version of the Screamin’ Eagle® High-Capacity Tappet incorporates a special heat treatment on the bearing needles and axle. In addition to the already proven, 25% larger, high capacity needle bearings, this new heat treat technology increases material hardness and compressive strength, ultimately enabling the tappet to withstand the grueling engine speeds and high valve lift found in many performance engine configurations. The newest technology is identified with a laser-etched “SE” on the axle of the tappet (shown in product image).

    Are these tappets exactly the same dimensons as the stock tappets?

    Are the Height, width, plunger travel the same as stock?

    When installing new SE tappets, is there a front and rear, or can they go in either way?

    Also, I don't see the 7500 mile replacement recommendation in the new SE parts book. Should they be replaced at 7500 miles with .555 lift?

    Why 7500 mile service interval ?

    2014 S-E cat. page 46 note states that these tappets should be replaced every 7500 miles with use of S-E high perf' cams. So why dont I need to do similar replacement to high performance roller cam applications in sb ford or chevy engines. seems unusual.

    To begin with you should never use automotive roller lifters in a Harley Davidson engine.Although GM roller lifters will work in your Harley, be fore warned you will cause accelerated wear on your valve train parts. The oil metering engineering of the respective lifters is not the same.Lifters manufactured for a Harley Davidson engine work harder to push enough oil to your valve train. With high lift cams and higher valve spring pressures it is just best to have a life cycle maintenance interval.Unless of course you would prefer little needle bearings breaking up and going through your engine. Enough said!
