    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pure Harley Signature Gear Shift Linkage Not only good looking on the bike but the shift is "So Smooth" with this HD Scripted Gear Shift Linkage. Fairly pricey part here, however, the enhanced shifting performance along with the "Curb Appeal" makes the purchase a little more reasonable. Straight forward installation was a breeze with clear instructions on mounting details. I would recommend this part not only for its bold lines and looks . . . but also for the performance. Purchase and install with confidence.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chrome flakes off after a year I have had three variations of these. No matter how well it is maintained, the chrome flakes off after a year of use. I believe it is due to being plated aluminum.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scripted Gear Shift Linkage After reading all the reviews on upgraded shift linkage, I decided to purchase Harley-Davidson's Scripted Gear Shift Linkage. What sold me was the fact that shifting was cleaner and finding neutral was easier. I agree in that both are true, plus I love the custom look as opposed to the O.E.M. shift rod. Installation tips/advice: After matching the new shift linkage up with the O.E.M. linkage, and adjusting it to the correct length, I would still hold off on permanently mounting the front bolt and acorn nut until checking for correct clearance. Install the rear bolt first and torque to specs, and then install the front bolt/nut. For whatever reason, the heal shifter "bottomed out" on the floorboard so I had to lengthen the shift rod a little bit more to avoid that. Not a big deal, but it meant reapplying Loctite to the bolt and re-torquing it according to the directions. Had I done a trial fit, I would have avoided taking it partially apart again and adjusting it. Other than that, installation was very straight forward and it makes a nice addition to my motorcycle. I was able to torque the rear bolt by holding the shifter down, which moved it ahead just enough to get a socket and extension on the rear bolt.
