Stage I Twin Cam Air Cleaner Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Difference with Stock Look I went into Coastal Carolina HD in Wilmington and talked to Matt about getting a stock air cleaner to replace the original that had gotten gunked up. I told Matt that I would love to get a performance intake, but I thought it would be a shame to get rid of the stock air box, as it really is, in my opinion, a beautiful piece. Matt steered my toward this one, and I'll just say right off the bat that I am more than satisfied. Installation was pretty straightforward. At least on my FLHR, you have to pull the tank bolts and tip the tank to the left in order to get access to all of the bolts, but it's really not a big deal. Have all of your torx and allen bits handy, because you will need them for this. Hardest part was figuring out how to get the breather tubes out of the stock back plate. Turns out that you just give them a tug with a pair of pliers, but that didn't seem right at first. At the end, you get a very nice air cleaner setup and a nifty Screaming Eagle plate to replace the stock 103 emblem. After installing, I flashed a new map using the V&H FP3 that I already had on the bike, ThenI strange it up and was a bit underwhelmed. Not sure what I was expecting here, but there was really no difference. Test drive was a different story. I think I had gotten used to the sluggishness of the gunked up filter, because when I rolled back the throttle getting on the highway, there was a giddyup that had not been there before. It didn't matter whether the revs were low, high, mid, my Road King ran like a thoroughbred. I was having so much fun banging through the gears that I ended up riding around town for a couple of hours! Also of note, the sound that the bike makes at WOT is quite pleasurable. Very quiet at idle and while cruising, but a lively roar when you roll your right hand. Needless to say, I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.
