      Note

Some Harley-Davidson® saddlebags are made of leather. Fine leathers or other natural materials WILL gain “character,” such as wrinkles or wear, with age. This is normal. A fine, aged patina and character wrinkles are a sign of the extremely high quality materials used to construct your saddlebags. The appearance of scars or marks on the leather are a result of using natural leather panels and should not be thought of as an imperfection. Single-Sided Swingarm Bag is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value, Looks Awesome (plus some install tips) Great value if you want to hard mount a swingarm bag, since the support and other hardware are included, and the bag is high quality. If you have a 2017 Iron 883, you need to use the spacers. (They are now included with the hardware! Otherwise you'll have vibration and swingarm contact issues, as mentioned in other reviews.) My included hardware had just three spacers for four attachment points, but I had a couple washers that worked well for the attachment point just below the battery. Note that for the 2017 Iron 883, you'll need to put the battery cover back on *before* you attach the bag to the support. The mounting points on the support and the bag's bolt holes won't necessarily line up perfectly. Hand tighten the bag attachment bolts while aligning, and do the one just below the battery cover last, since the bracket for that one can be slightly bent. And use, buy, or borrow some calibrated torque wrenches! They'll probably make the install easier. Finally, once you're familiar with attaching the bag, it's relatively easy to take it off in order to make washing the bike easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking, holds at least something. Looks great, I installed a power outlet on the back (wheel side) of the bag to charge phone, etc. Looks great, doesn't hold much, but what you expect - it looks great. Do you want looks or convenience?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Single-Sided Swingarm Bag I just installed Harley-Davidson's Single-Sided Swingarm Bag on my wife's 2016 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight. Installation wasn't too bad, but it did take some time to get various holes lined up to put screws and bolts through. As I've experienced before with Harley-Davidson installation instructions, they are sometimes vague and hard to follow and I find myself studying my motorcycle so I can figure out how things go together. I realize the directions are written for all Sportster models and there are some differences in specific models. With that being said, take your time and have good lighting so you can line up mounting holes - not only for the mounting bracket, but the bag itself. Loosely install the four screws that mount the bag to the bracket so you have some free-play and "wiggle" room for the mounting screws. I love the look of the bag on the Forty-Eight and it definitely gives the bike some character!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I wanted this to work and when I opened it at the dealership it looked good. I read all the reviews before making this purchase. This Is the worst item I've bought from Harley. The strap clips pop out and don't hold the straps tight ,therefore the bag. The bag came loose while riding was flopping around. I thought I had done something wrong but the two top PLASTIC clips had popped out of their sides. I've had the bag a week and want/need to take it back. I just hope I can get my $200 back

      Q & A

Are there repair kits for the plastic latches?

Is there a repair kit available for when the plastic latches break?
      Asked by: cowboys2291
Hi Cowboys2291, This is a common question on the Single-Sided Swingarm Bag! Unfortunately, there is not a repair kit available through the H-D Online Store. Have you tried your local leather repair shop for assistance? I would try them as this is a leather product. Also, there is a 1-year limited warranty on leather saddlebags. If warranty is an option, take your proof of purchase w/ you to your local dealership and request a warranty claim to be issued.

Does this bag fits when leather saddlebags (p.n.90201329) are installed on the same side?

      On XL883C 2004
      Asked by: Dmytro
Dmytro. Probably not, judging from photos of the Sportster Leather Saddlebags. (The following is accurate for my 2017 Iron XL883N; I'm assuming your XL883C wouldn't be that much different.) The rear-facing side of the single-sided swingarm bag roughly parallels the shock, coming closer than 0.75 inches at one point. And the outer side of the swingarm bag extends about 3 inches beyond the shock. I suspect the Leather Saddlebags mount closer to the shock than that. Hope this helps.

      Would like the exact dimensions....

I carry a laptop case that is roughly 10" x 14" (only 2" in depth) and wanted to know if it will fit in this bag. Also, if I do buy it and don't like it what is the return policy?
      Asked by: DadTre
I just did some approximate measurements (motorcycle is still stored away so it was hard to get them exact). The horizontal width is 12 inches, the slant height is 10 inches, and the depth is 4 inches. Since the bag is slanted, a rectangular laptop is not going to fit perfect in a bag that is shaped like a parallelogram (I teach high school Geometry). I would bring your laptop to a Harley-Davidson dealership and see how it fits in their store display. Almost every dealership I've been to has this bag on display in their luggage section. Hope this helps . . . David

      Peg extensions?

Can I mount this and use peg extensions or the adjustable pegs?
      Asked by: Toutpret
Hi Toutpret, The Single-Sided Swingarm Bag requires the removal of passenger pegs. You can not use peg extensions or adjustable pegs. Thank you for your question.

so the title implies its a single bag but the "in the box" sections claims it comes with two bags reflectors and mounting hardware.

What is really included? Also on a 2012 spotter 72 (xl1200v) is this a bolt on design without modifications?
      Asked by: Alpha
One bag in the box with mounting hardware for the left side of the bike. Will bolt on the 72 as long as you don't have passenger pegs. I did not get reflectors in the box.
