Streamliner Passenger Footboard Mount Kit is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvement Harley needs to redesign the way the inserts mount onto the foot board pan. While they do enhance the look of the bike, the design is extremely poor. When I put these on the bike and installed the insert, it didn't seem to fit correctly. 2 Days later I took a short ride of 1/2 mile. It was dark when I got home so I parked the bike. 2 days later, I noticed that the left insert had fallen out somewhere during the trip. The set screw besides being very difficult to install (you need needle nosed vice grips to do it) and the rubber on the inserts does not engage unless the steel pins are aligned EXACTLY right. After I lost the left side, I had to take a pair of vice grips with a towel wrapped around the insert and pan and tighten as tight as possible to ensure it engaged. If I had it to do over again, I would look for a better quality option as the $389.00 price for the quality is NOT worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Easy to install, looks great, and my girl finds them way more comfortable than the stock pegs...I'm very pleased with them....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Looking Addition! I got these as a Christmas present, re-wrapped, without the instructions. Couldn't be too tough, right? So I was having difficulty keeping the spring-tensioned ball staying in place. Walked away and came back the next day with instructions printed off this site, Everything went together nicely. Easily assembled with an Allen wrench, rubber mallet and a center punch (to assure the tight-fitting pins seated completely). Note the brackets have a slight angle to them, make sure you get the right one on the correct side of the bike. Look at both brackets before you do your final assembly! One review here speaks of an issue with a plastic ball... MY kit had a steel, ball bearing-like ball, nothing plastic about this kit (not sure, maybe that's a recent upgrade). I gave 4 stars because nothing is stated about how to keep the ball from popping out (I got one pin started, placed the ball, and seated the remaining pin while holding the footboard horizontally). Also, nothing about the differences in the brackets. It might be negligible, but there IS a difference between right and left!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from more than expected They look nice when on the bike. the problem is the top / black inserts do not snap in. you will need vise grips to pop them into place. Use a shop rag and rap it around the footboard so you don't scratch them, when using the vise grip. Also I drilled a pilot hole in the top / black insert for the set screw. To make sure it set and also hold the insert in place. HD could have did a better job in designing this product.

    Q & A

    footboard adjustment

I purchased these for my 2015 sgs is it possible that the lower shoulder bolt is too short to allow the footboard mounts to move freely to adjust the positions? If I tighten the shoulder bolt the head of the bolt bottoms out on the mount. I don't want to leave it loose and if I move the mount down from the top hole you can't get a Allen wrench on the shoulder bolt to snug it up.

I lost the right side rubber pad insert. Can I order just the pad?

    Asked by: 123irene
Hi 123Irene, Unfortunately, no, you cannot order just the right footboard insert through the Harley-Davidson Online Store, but you can order/purchase it at your local dealership. If you look at the "Streamliner Passenger Footboard Kit Instruction Sheet" link, under the "More Info" tab, you will see in the diagram that the part number for the right footboard insert is P/N 50421-05. Thank you for your question.

kit with slipstream inserts instead of the streamliner

I have been looking to get these floor boards for my 2013 CVO Road king which comes with everything as the Slipstream. I really don't think I should have to pay another $120 just to make the inserts match my bike. Also is there going to be an improvement to prevent the inserts from falling out?
