Sundowner Solo Seat is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 13' Harley forty eight Let me start by saying that the difference in sizing between the stock seat and this Sundowner is going to be immediately noticeable. However, that quickly becomes a minimal issue when you first sit and go out for a ride. Honestly it looks great on the bike and the Harley emblem is a great touch. Very pleased with the seat and would recommend this to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Seat I've only got about 200 miles on this seat. So far I am happy with it. I usually ride about 50 miles at a time on the local country roads. Just cruising. After about 50 miles on the stock seat, which I will still use, I had a very sore bottom. And I really felt the bad roads. The Sundowner Solo Seat has more padding. I still feel the bumps but they are not as harsh and jarring. As others have reported, the seat does change the riding position a bit from the stock seat. A little back and a little up. Not bad really. It also changes my foot position on the XL1200C forward controls. Again not a bad thing. It just took me a a bit of riding to find the right boot placement when upshifting. I was fortunate to have a dealer that has a demo seat I could try before I made my decision, so I knew what I was getting into with seating and controls. The more I ride on it, the more I like it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sits too far back Nice soft seat with rear support, and doesn't look too bad on 883 Iron. However, be aware this seat sits 2-3" further back than stock seat. I am 5'7". I could not get comfortable that far back. Shifting was weird. Long reach to the bars. Could no longer use my highway pegs, Note: it does not look like the picture shown on this HD site showing it right up snug to the tank. There is a 2-3" gap between the seat and the tank, which looks odd. Returning it, and putting my stock seat back on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seat lives up to it's name I have to admit I was skeptical about what this seat said it would deliver in it's description. But after installing it(which was a breeze) and getting on my bike to try it out, I have to say the description is 100% correct. My tailbone doesn't bother me at all anymore when I go on medium to long rides like it used to. I did a 200 mile ride recently and had none of the lingering tailbone aches and pains I have had in the past.

    Q & A

Is there a weight limit for this seat?

    Asked by: BigTSchnegg

There is a gab between the seat and the tank on the 2016 Iron 883. Is there a purchasable part which will fill this gap and make it look better?

    Asked by: IronmanLA883

Will you be offering the Sundowner Solo seat to earlier Models of Sportster such as a 2006 1200C.

I always wanted a nice solo seat with the quality of my Sundowner Two Up seat on my 2006 1200c Sportster. Can you special order if not planned to offered?
    Asked by: SeatPlease06
Hi SeatPlease06, Unfortunately, it is not possible to special order a Sundowner Solo Seat for a 2006 XL1200C. We neither have access to this information nor can we discuss future products. If you would like to see Harley-Davidson make Sundowner Solo Seat that fits a 2006 XL1200C, the best way to get your idea heard is to: Go to > Contact Us > IDEAS FOR HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTOR COMPANY > Idea Submission Instructions Thank you for your question.

After installation, will this seat have a gap between the front of seat and the tank on a Sportster with a 3.3 peanut tank?

    Asked by: Kenny883
The short answer to your question Kenny883 on if there will be a gap between the smaller 3.3-gal. fuel tank and the Sundowner Solo seat is: YES! The fact is, that even with the 4.5-gal. fuel tank on the Sportster there is still a 5/16th (7.9375mm) gap between tank and seat. NOTE: When removing the original equipment seat from Sportster between the 4.5-gal fuel tank and where the original seat sat there may be some dirt and/or a slight discoloration on the tanks paint in that spot and cleaning and polishing of the tank may be required. The small 5/16th gap left from the Sundowners’ Solo seat will allow for easy access between tank and seat for better cleaning in the future. It will also prevent any unnecessary fuel tank paint damage between seat and fuel tank wall, too. I hope this helps.
