      Note

It is possible to overload your motorcycle's charging system by adding too many electrical accessories. If your combined electrical accessories operating at any one time consume more electrical current than your vehicle's charging system can produce, the electrical consumption can discharge the battery and cause vehicle electrical system damage. Ask your dealer for advice about the amount of current consumed by electrical accessories.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used this to make an electrical connection. I wanted a switched connection to my Accessory switch on my CVO, to connect a GPS. Cut off the lighter and wired to the GPS cord. Now I can switch it on, on my fairing switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supplemental Power Port I purchased the power port to gain access to the 12VDC power when the motorcycle ignition is turned on. I recently installed some in-helmet communication device with music capability and the installation required a connection to the Ignition-on circuit. This device gave me easy access to the connections in a clean, sealed, and secure connection. The connector made making the connection point easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to the FLHRC Road King Classic This power port is a great addtion that comes almost completely plug-n-play. The wiring plugs in to a pre-wired plug within the harness beneath the seat that is connected to the toggle switch on the left side of the steering column. You have to decide where to mount this power port and I chose to put it on the inside of the right saddlebag instead of in the side cover. All you need to mount it is a 7/8" drill bit. The longest part of the job was finding the available port in the harness under the seat; mine had fallen down to the bottom-front of the battery and I couldn't find it at first. Having the accessory plug to charge my iPhone and iPod while on long rides will be indispensible.

      Q & A

      How durable is this?

At this price point, obviously it is easy to replace. But by the same token, at this price point, I am wondering how many months/years of service I can expect to get out of it.

Is this aux power port suitable for powering a (automobile) garmin gps?

I have a Garmin nuvi that we use in the car (using a cigarette lighter type plug) and i would like to use it on my bike if it is possible to wire up power for the device.

Will this auxiliary power outlet fit into the cig lighter spot on a 2009 street glide?

      Asked by: dwalts55

Is there a plug on the 2004 FLHRS for the extra power supply (cigarette lighter plug)?

I see the supplemental 12v power point has a plug on it for connecting to a power source. Is there a matching one on the bike from the factory?
      Asked by: Kirbo
Hey Kirbo! The 2004 FLHRS stock does not come with a Cigarette Lighter plug per se; however, it does come with an area where a 12V Power Harness can be stored. This has be plugged into a battery source. Hope this helps!
