Quick Release Rider Backrest is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable as well as useful. Helps ease any back pain wile riding. Also is quite useful wen backing up your bike. Instead of pulling on the bars to back up, you use your legs and butt to do all the work pressing firmly against the backrest..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfort Should have gotten this a long time ago. Perfect lumbar support. Adjusts easily to what ever ridding position I choose with one hand while ridding. Excellent instillation instructions included. Looks great on the bike. I proportionate to the bike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from functional, and it looks aight, too! ordered one of these to put on my XL1200V (72). LOOKS GOOD! i feel a lot more comfortable with the backrest on; it keeps my 'seat' where i want it. adjustment forward/backward is simple (think of turning a bolt in or out). it flips forward to rest on the seat so getting on/off is unrestricted. where i have the seat positioned, all i have to do is stand up and the backrest falls forward 'automatically'. also, the backrest has 4" +/- of vertical adjustment. wish i'd bought one miles ago...

    Q & A

Detachable luggage rack & back rest

Hi, Can this be used at the same time as my HD detachable luggage rack on my Nightster? Thank you
    Asked by: Nightstar13

Will the installation instructions be included in the box? Is there a link online?

I can't find the installation instructions for this part (52300245) online. Would like to read these before I buy. Anyone have a link to the installation instructions? Thanks!
    Asked by: Momof3
Hi Momof3, H-D now has a new system called SIP (Service Information Portal). This site is accessible from the H-D.com website. 1. Log onto www.Harley-Davidson.com 2. Locate and Click on: Owners 3. Under--Maintain Your Bike--Click On: Owner's Manuals 4. Select Your Language & Country The final page will ask for your Vin# and Model (disregard; if you wish). In the upper right hand corner Click On: SEARCH and enter part number. Hope this helps!

    Mounting on a stock 2up

Saw photos of backrest mounted on a solo seat, looked as though there is ample room to go over a 2up.
    Asked by: Nomad188
Hi Nomad, I am not clear on your question. It's hard to determine from a picture if a part will leave ample room for a 2-up. For the best results, I suggest going to your local dealership for assistance. They may have this part in stock or on their showroom floor. Thanks!

Whats the dimensions on the connection bars?

I have a 2002 sportster 1200 xlh custom and I haven't been able to find a back rest to go with my bike. The 2 bars with the screw holes shown in photo are what dimensions. What Is the width between to the 2 plates and what is the distance from the front and back screw holes. If it will be close to my dimensions I would like to try and put it on my bike. I know it says 2004 or newer but if theirs a way I can modify it to make it work I would be interested in buying it. Unless you have one that can mount up to a 2002 in stock that I haven't been able to find. Thanks for any help you can provide.
    Asked by: sahmsd
Hi Sahmsd, We highly recommend you contact a local dealer to assist with installing the Quick Release Rider Backrest. Since this is a modification for your bike we can suggest alterations that may cause an issue. In addition, we have a backrest and several backrest pads that are a direct fitment for your bike. Good Luck!
